Nicola is an expert in labor law and personnel management. Before working full time to data protection issues, he gained a long experience in the field of human resources and personnel administration as HR Manager in some Italian companies as well as in a German multinational, and definitely as a freelancer as a Labor Consultant.
As a journalist, he regularly writes for newspaper notes, including Nòva, Il Sole 24 Ore, Forbes, Wired, Metro News, Affaritaliani.it, Il Corriere delle Comunicazioni, and the Privacy News magazine, in which he also holds the position of Director Manager since 2012. He has also written for Italia Oggi, and the Social News magazine, sponsored by the RAI Social Secretariat. As a freelancer, he has collaborated as a consultant with numerous companies for the adaptation to privacy legislation since the first Italian law n. 675/1996, also taking care of the training aspects both as an organizer and as a teacher.
In 2010, he was the promoter of the creation of the certification scheme for the professional figure of Privacy Officer and Privacy Consultant by TÜV Italia. For this certification scheme, developed in accordance with the requirements of UNI CEI EN ISO / IEC 17024: 2012, he is recognized as a grandparent.
He is a speaker at various conferences and lecturer in training courses on personal data protection, and is the scientific coordinator of the advanced training course “Privacy and personnel management” at the Department of Political, Legal and International Studies (SPGI) of the University of Padova.
He has written and edited various texts on the subject together with other authors, including the following: “Privacy, protezione e trattamento dei dati” (Ipsoa, 2020), “Il Privacy Officer, figura chiave della data protection europea” (Ipsoa, 2013), “Privacy e Regolamento UE 2016/679, guida alle novità” (Ipsoa, 2017), “La Riforma della Privacy.
