Paula Hothersall
Director of International Regulatory Cooperation, ICO
As ICO’s Director of International Regulatory Cooperation since Sept 2019, Paula leads development and delivery of strategic international engagement in support of ICO’s domestic regulatory role and UK Government international data and data protection policy approaches. This includes overseeing the ICO’s role in support of the UK Government’s Adequacy Assessments of third countries.
As a member of ICO’s Senior Leadership Team Paula is a member of ICO’s Risk and Governance, Regulatory Delivery, Policy, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Boards.
Prior to working at ICO Paula spent 20 years working in the UK Ministry of Defence on international security and military operational policy, and associated multilateral negotiations.
