Koen Gorissen
Belgian DPA President
Koen Gorissen was nominated by the Belgian Parliament in April 2025 as the Chairman of the Belgian Data Protection Authority (GBA) and its Executive Committee. With a strong background in privacy and data protection, he previously held the role of Director of the General Secretariat of the GBA. Prior to that, he served from 2015 as a Privacy Expert (Director) at the Belgian Supervisory Body for Police Information.
Mr. Gorissen has over a decade of experience as a legal advisor at the Commission for the Protection of Privacy, the institution that preceded the GBA. His legal career also includes work as a practicing lawyer. He holds master degrees in Law and Notarial Studies from KU Leuven.
