Lela Janashvili
Prof. Dr. Dr. Lela Janashvili is the President of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia. At the 47th Global Privacy Assembly (GPA) meeting in Seoul, she was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the GPA. She is an Associate Professor at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), and an Associate Professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She holds a doctoral degree from the Faculty of Law at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU), as well as a doctoral degree in Human Security and Global Public Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where she was awarded an Extraordinary Doctoral Degree for her outstanding doctoral career.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Janashvili is the Editor-in-Chief of the annual, bilingual scientific publication of the Personal Data Protection Service of Georgia — the “Journal of Personal Data Protection Law”. She has authored numerous scientific research papers and has contributed to several international conferences on data protection, privacy, Artificial Intelligence, legal theory and constitutional law.
