TEZUKA Satoru is a chairperson of the Personal Information Protection Commission (PPC), Japan.
After graduating from the Department of Mathematical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Keio University in 1984, he Joined Hitachi, Ltd. Since 2009 he has also been involved in the field of academics. He was appointed Professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Tokyo University of Technology in 2009, Project Professor at the Graduate School of Media and Governance, Keio University in 2016, Professor at the Faculty of Environment and Information Studies, Keio University in 2019, and Project Professor at the Global Research Institute, Keio University in 2024.
He has wide-ranging experience and deep expertise in the field of systems and technologies on “Trust Services”, which ensure authenticity to exchange significant information, such as personal data.
He served as a commissioner of the Specific Personal Information Protection Commission and the PPC from 2014 to 2018, contributing to developing frameworks for the protection and utilization of personal information.
