Social Events

The public social events are exclusively reserved to registered Privacy Symposium participants, and included in the price of the ticket.  Participation to certain social events will be limited to first-come-first-serve-basis. Privacy Symposium speakers and attendees will receive further instructions sent to the email used to register. 

The schedule of the social events is subject to modifications, as the locations and/or times of the events may change.

Welcome Reception

Date: Monday, 12th May 

Time: 6:30 – 7:30 PM

Description: We will inaugurate the fourth edition of the Privacy Symposium at the Official Welcome Reception. This event marks the beginning of a week rich in insightful discussions and open exchange, set in the inspiring atmosphere of Venice. Guests will have the opportunity to admire the remarkable works of Tintoretto, one of the city’s most celebrated painters, while connecting with professionals from diverse backgrounds and engaging in fruitful discussions. 

The evening will be enriched by a live performance from a string trio, featuring La FollIA along with selected pieces by Antonio Vivaldi, the renowned Venetian composer whose music continues to reflect the beauty of the city. The performance will offer guests a unique and immersive experience, evoking the timeless charm of Venice. 

Please bear in mind that you are not allowed to smoke during the reception, touch any paintings, sculptures, or bring your own food or drinks.

Privacy Professionals’ Meet-up

Date: Tuesday, 13th May 

Time: 6:30 – 7:30 PM 

Description: After a productive day of engaging sessions, what better way to refresh than by enjoying a traditional Aperol Spritz at the Privacy Professionals’ Meet-up? Join us for a relaxed evening of conversation and connection over this iconic Italian cocktail. It’s a unique opportunity to get to know other participants of the Privacy Symposium, while enjoying a taste of the dolce vita in true Venetian style.

Description: Marking the halfway point of the conference, have a relaxing evening at the Privacy Professionals’ Meet-upEnjoy a refreshing spritz while engaging with other privacy experts. After a productive day of sessions, this is an excellent occasion to meet with other participants and speakers, resume discussions, and enjoy a relaxing evening.

A Quartet Concert

Date: Thursday, 15th May 

Time: 6 PM 

Description: The Privacy Symposium is delighted to invite you to a unique musical experience on Thursday, 15 May at 6 PM, where the Quartetto Pegreffi will take the audience on a musical journey inspired by Venice’s atmosphere. 

The concert will present a selection of pieces ranging from refined baroque elegance to rich impressionistic colours. The programme reflects the ambience and charm of the surroundings, offering a moment of pause and appreciation in the midst of the Privacy Symposium.

Description: As we near the conclusion of the Privacy Symposium, take a moment to unwind at the Privacy Professionals’ Meet-up. After a day filled with insightful sessions and valuable connections, this is the perfect occasion to engage with fellow privacy experts and speakers, revisit inspiring conversations, and enjoy a relaxing evening over a refreshing spritz. 

Venice Walking Tour

Date: Saturday, 17th May 

Time: 1:00 – 3:00 PM 

Description: The Privacy Symposium is delighted to invite you to a walking tour around timelessly beautiful Venice. During this 2-hour tour, you will get a chance to walk the Venetian cobblestones that are polished by centuries of footsteps and learn about its history. Gazing in the mirrors of canals, you will be enchanted by the elegance of palazzos and the art of Venice. In this city, where history and romance entwine, the allure of privacy is ever-present, making it a wonderful way to conclude a week of Privacy Symposium.
